Resource consent documents for public wharves

Chris Claydon made this Official Information request to Northland Regional Council

The request was successful.

From: Chris Claydon

Dear Northland Regional Council,

Please could you provide a copy as PDF by email of the current resource consents for all maritime facilites which are owned or operated by Far North District Council and/or Far North Holdings Limited.

In particular I would like to see whether the resource consent gives the council exclusive occupation of the coastal marine area and/or allows the coucil to exclude the public from each of these facilties.

This is a matter of public interest in relation to the proposed new Maritime Facilities Bylaw and is urgent because the consultation period for that bylaw is currently open and only open for a few more weeks.

This includes but is not limited to the consents for:

Waipapa landing boat ramp
Waipapa landing jetty
Stone store wharf
Jetty and pontoon attached to Stone Store wharf
Russell wharf
Windsor Landing
Opito Bay boat ramp
Rangitane boat ramp and jetty

Yours faithfully,

Chris Claydon

Hi Stuart, I have indeed received 7 emails with a total of 28 attachments. I have downloaded all 28 and renamed each file to add the name of the facility to the filename to ensure I have not missed any. The consents listed in my previous email are all definitely missing.

Many thanks,
Chris

Subject: RE: LGOIMA REQ.617879 Claydon C Maritime Consent Document Request
#4

Hi Stuart, I have indeed received 7 emails with a total of 28 attachments.
I have downloaded all 28 and renamed each file to add the name of the
facility to the filename to ensure I have not missed any. The consents
listed in my previous email are all definitely missing.

Many thanks,
Chris

Thanks Stuart, that covers most of it, however I'm still missing anything for Stone Store wharf - the consent you supplied for Stone Store only covers the pontoon and access ramp beside the wharf, not the wharf itself.

The wharf is party reclamation and partly up on concrete piles above the water, surely at least the part above the water must require a consent? Is it an unconsented structure illegally occupying the seabed or do you have documents pertaining to it?

Many thanks and best wishes,
Chris
