Net Loss or Gain of Businesses on Cycleways
Chuck Schooner (Account suspended) made this Official Information request to Wellington Regional Council
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Chuck Schooner (Account suspended) to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Chuck Schooner (Account suspended)
Dear Wellington Regional Council/Wellington City Council and WREDA,
Can you please provide the following
- Net loss of businesses and or forecast loss of businesses following the implementation / construction of the following cycleways
Central city cycleways
Cobham drive
Hutt Road
Kilbirnie connections
Miramar town centre
Newtown to city
Newtown connections
Oriental parade
Thorndon quay
If the above is not been measured can you please explain why?
If rates were tied directly to businesses rather than landowners does Wellington City Council / GWRC believe they would have any businesses still operating in the city?
Can you please provide any business "hubs" that have opened up following the implementation of the cycleways above.
It is now time to really be honest - at least if Wellington City Council and GWRC came out and said they were anti business people could relocate accordingly. Why not just say that so that the entrepreneur's can pack up and take their initiative elsewhere rather than have their lives destroyed by a bankrupt council bereft of ideas intent on destroying what people before them have built.
Wellington is going to the toilet like all left wing run cities, high taxes, high crime, rotting infrastructure. This will be reflected in the mass exodus from Wellington in the next few years. People will vote with their feet.
I love this city but my time here will be done shortly. Well done GWRC & WCC!
P.S - try to stick to a budget like every other person has to do except for incompetent councils and governments.
Yours faithfully,
Chuck
