Thank you for your query on 26 October 2017 requesting the following
information through the FYI website:

1.       the total number of transit-only passengers that passed border
security (i.e. transit passengers that did not pay the levy but entered NZ
anyway)

2.       the total number of transit-only passengers that DID NOT pass
border security (i.e. transit customers that remained only in transit)

3.       the total number of regular entry passengers that passed border
security (i.e. any other passenger, such as visitor, citizen or crew)

On 13 November 2017, the Ministry for Primary Industries transferred
question three of your request to the New Zealand Customs Service in
accordance with section 14 of the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act),
as it is more closely connected with the functions of the New Zealand
Customs Service.

 

We acknowledge receipt of the request under the Act.

 

You can expect a response within the statutory timeframe as set out in the
