Request for audio recordings of SSAA 174/15 on 9/3/16 and 10/5/16
K Tan made this Official Information request to Ministry of Justice
The request was refused by Ministry of Justice.
From: K Tan
Dear Ministry of Justice,
I require these two recordings as evidence for my Appeal to the High Court as I have been unjustly accused and have nothing to hide. I had requested three times for these recordings which will prove I did not say what I was accused of saying.
The Authority finally replied - "The Authority has made the following minute regarding this matter:
There is no basis on which the Authority considers it appropriate to release the recordings. Recordings are made solely for the purposes of the Authority."
These recordings are the core evidence to prove the independence of the judiciary.
Yours faithfully,
Kong Tan

From: K Tan
Dear Ministry of Justice,
The Ombudsman replied that the Social Security Appeals Authority (SSAA) is not subject to the OIA. How is this so when the SSAA is under the Ministry of Justice? I had given at my cost two recordings of the Benefits Review Committee FOC to the SSAA as I have nothing to hide. What have they got to hide?
Yours faithfully,
K Tan

Ministry of Justice
Dear Kong Tan
Please find attached a response to your requests on 21 and 22 October 2016
regarding the Social Security Appeals Authority.
As the letter notes, due to the Ministry's National Office in Wellington
being closed for a week due to the North Canterbury earthquakes, this
response is late. We apologise for the delay.
Regards
Antony
