Hi Jem

I accidently pressed “send” before adding a note, just saying, your
Official Information Act response is attached.

Have a good day.

Cheers

Antony

Dear Paltridge, Antony,

Thank you for providing a bit of a historical perspective and summary of current BAU.

This was quite clearly NOT the information I requested.

Or are you confirming your department's recent public statement that the government is actually doing absolutely nothing at present in relation to the Labour Party's election promise on implementing the report?

Yours sincerely,

Jem Traylen

Tena koe Antony Paltridge

Thank you for your latest correspondence which more closely addresses the information I requested.

As the department with lead responsibility for the Human Rights Act, the expectation is that your agency would assume responsibility for monitoring implementation across government.

Please pass on my suggestion that you assess the current state of play across government (Minister Genter's Office would be a good place to start) and brief your minister on the possibility of some kind of cross-agency working group or, at the very least, some kind of monitoring program.

Implementation of the To Be Who I Am Report was something personally promised by the Prime Minister during the election campaign (she launched the Rainbow Labour manifesto) and during the 2018 Auckland Pride Festival (refer official program).

Nga mihi/kind regards

Mx Jem Traylen
