Audits, Resource consents:
Katherine Raue made this Official Information request to Carterton District Council
The request was refused by Carterton District Council.
From: Katherine Raue
Dear Carterton District Council,
I request ALL information regarding the recent audit into Resource Consents, etc, and in particular a recent complaint regarding the apparent extortion of money from a resident in Clifton Avenue, which apparently resulted in the arson of the complainant's home.
I request all information regarding audits carried out by the CDC in the last five years, and details of the Resource Consents - in particular a breakdown of the recent payment made by the resident in Clifton Avenue, which followed the telephoned extortion communication from the Council employee, and which was witnessed by the above mentioned complainant, in which your employee demanded payment be personally delivered to the Council in cash or "they will investigate all the other consents". The payment was made within two days of the extortion attempt, for the full amount of all the resident's consents, BY CHEQUE, drawn on the resident's trust account.
Yours faithfully,
Katherine Raue

Dear Marty Sebire,
Hmmm, it's tempting, but I wouldn't want to suffer the same outcome as the last person to inquire into this matter - this article was originally entitled "Wrong house torched?" - http://www.nzherald.co.nz/wairarapa-time...
Yours sincerely,
Katherine Raue
