Total number of traffic stops nationally

Peter Robinson made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was refused by New Zealand Police.

From: Peter Robinson

Dear New Zealand Police,

Could you please provide a spreadsheet with the total number of traffic stops nationally between 2011 and 2018? Can this please include all events where Police have stopped vehicles and if possible broken down by reason e.g speeding, traffic light infringement etc.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Robinson

Good morning

Your request has been received and is underway.

NZ Police publishes its road policing driver offence data at:
[1]http://www.police.govt.nz/about-us/publi...
. This may not give you exactly what you are looking for, it’s offences
rather than traffic stops, but you may find it useful. It is updated
quarterly.

Warm regards

Renée

Dear Peter

I refer to your request of 3 March 2019 for information relating to
2011-2018 traffic stops.

I have been asked to let you know that Police requires an extension of
time in which to respond to your request, pursuant to section 15A of the
Official Information Act 1982, because the request necessitates
consultations such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.

Police require until 1 May 2019 to provide a substantive response to your
request.

You have the right to ask the Office of the Ombudsman to review this
extension.

Ngā mihi
