More information about traffic stop
Andrew Crow made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was refused by New Zealand Police.
From: Andrew Crow
Dear New Zealand Police,
I am keen to know more about the traffic stop of a bus as reporting stuff news today.
https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/110208972...
Based on what was reported it is not clear if police have done the right thing.
Questions I have under OIA:
1. Why was the bus originally stopped?
2. What was wrong withe the bus?
3. Are the police staff involved getting extra training?
And finally can I ask the police release any other documents that will allow the public to understand what happened.
Yours faithfully,
Andrew Crow

Dear New Zealand Police,
I am following up on my request from February 14th.
Your last response was that the request was declined due to ongoing investigation.
Basically I would like to ask same questions again now that time has past and the investigation should be closed.
Yours faithfully,

If it gets declined because still "under investigation" again, I would suggest making a follow up request asking for a timeline of what investigation has taken place. Something like "Can I please get all the dates of any details added to the case file for this investigation". That should show you that either it is still under investigation as they claim, or that it is not which you should mention to the Ombudsman.
I've found in my experience that they quite often hide behind that clause.

The whole Stuff report is not very clear (typically).
For starters, the Onslow College bus (using a different company) left Karapiro today, Monday.
NZTA say they stopped the bus but Police say they have no record,
