From: Michael Stockdale
Dear New Zealand Police,
I would like to know if the socks that David Bain was wearing on Monday 20 June 1994 when the police arrived at 65 Every Street , Dunedin , had wet or damp soles. I am aware the soles of those socks had his brother Stephen's blood on them . Bain admitted that a pair of his socks were in the wash. He also said in his evidence-in-chief that the bathroom floor was wet and that he could feel the wet carpet in his stockinged feet, so the soles of the socks he was wearing when the police arrived should have had been wet unless he changed his socks beforehand.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Stockdale
