Dear Minister Nick Smith,

You recently made the following comments as reported by the media:

" I am a conservative on cannabis because of the very strong medical evidence and studies like the Dunedin longitudinal research, which shows the huge damage that the drug does to peoples well being and health".

Because of your influential position it is important we do not exaggerate or misrepresent the facts in regard medicinal use of cannabis. As a patient scripted cannabis product in New Zealand I wonder what these harms your refer to are if serious enough to prevent medical gains.

With this in mind:
1. Please supply the cannabis informations you have that lead you to make your statement as above and hold the view you do in regard medicinal cannabis.

Again, as the recipeint of a cannabis based medicine, I am concerned about the harms you refer to in your recent public comments and wish to ensure I am as fully informed as possible. I also believe our public representatives should be able to account for statements publicly made.
