Dear Minister for Building and Housing,

An Order in Council has been made to include Hamilton City Council in Schedule 1 to the Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas Act 2013 effective from 8th January 2015.

Section 9(2) of the Act requires the Minister to be satisfied that Hamilton city is experiencing significant housing supply and affordability issues. S9(3) of the Act sets out the matters the Minister must and may have regard to.

Please provide copies of all reports the Minister had regard to and/or took into account in satisfying himself that S9 of the Act had been met.

Thank you for your Official Information Act request to Hon Dr Nick Smith,
Minister for Building and Housing, below.  Your request has been placed
before the Minister for his consideration.  You may expect a response to
your request within 20 working days.

 

For your information, the definition of “working day” under the Official
Information Act does not include weekends, a number of public holidays and
“a day in the period commencing with 25 December in any year and ending
with 15 January in the following year.”
