Mayor and Councillor attendance this term
aimee w made this Official Information request to Wellington City Council
The request was refused by Wellington City Council.
From: aimee w
Dear Wellington City Council,
Could you please provide, in table form (.csv or .xls or .xlsx), a detailed breakdown for the mayor and all councillors, per meeting, of:
- councillors in attendance
- apologies
- late arrivals (and what constitutes that), and
- early departures (and what constitutes that) for all council meetings for the 2013 triennium, to date?
Further, could that table contain data on which meetings were considered mandatory for councillors, and which were considered optional?
For context, I'm looking to reproduce the analysis in the blog post below: https://medium.com/quicksand/how-many-me...
Thanks so much!
Yours faithfully,
aimee w

Hello Aimee,
Thank you for your request.
The Council does not collate the figures you are requesting, and has not done so since Councillors were paid a salary as opposed to a meeting attendance fee.
Additionally, it is not required to report of these figures in the Annual Report.
You can determine the figures for yourself by viewing the meeting minutes on the Council website, as attendance at each meeting is recorded in the minutes.
Kind regards
Chris

Dear Chris Brown,
Thanks for this! A point of clarification - I looked at a random sampling of meetings and couldn't see if late arrivals/early departures were captured and, if so, how they're defined?
Yours sincerely,
aimee w

Hello Aimee,
It is recorded in the minutes if an elected member leaves the meeting, including the time, and when they return.
Late attendees are recorded in the same way.
You may have just come across some where there were no movements
Cheers
Chris
