Dear Victoria University of Wellington,
Under the Official Information Act, I request access to all communications and decision-making records relating to the University’s decision to remain open and proceed with Orientation Week events on 16 February 2026 during a severe weather warning.
Specifically, I request copies of communications, briefings, emails, meeting notes, risk assessments, and any supporting documentation exchanged between emergency management personnel, incident controllers, senior leadership, and relevant operational teams.
I am also seeking information on the data, advice, and risk assessments relied upon in making this decision, as well as documentation identifying the individual or group responsible for the final determination.
