If you are making a request under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA),
the University will be in touch to acknowledge your request and discuss
further if necessary.

15 January 2026 (inclusive), and any requests made during this period will

The University is currently experiencing high volumes of OIA requests.

If you have found the information through any of the alternative means,

I am emailing in relation to your two new Official Information Act 1982
(OIA) requests of 13 January 2026 in which you request:
1. “Please provide the test papers for the courses EEEN301, CYBR371 and
NWEN303 for the years 2021 to 2025.”
2. “Please provide the test and exam papers for the courses COMP361 and
RESE321 for the years 2021 to 2025.”
Similar to your 6 January 2026 request seeking the same information, we
strongly recommend contacting your Course Coordinator or Lecturer directly
for this information. They will be able to provide test papers and
additional tailored advice to you at the same time, and likely much more
quickly than the OIA process.
If you are a student in these courses, we have confirmed that many Course
Coordinators and Lecturers are already proactively sharing this
information with students during their course, and accordingly making
requests under the OIA for this information may not be necessary.
Additionally, you may also find some of the requested information publicly
available. You can access the University’s
o proactive release of past exam papers on our website here:
[1]https://www.wgtn.ac.nz/library/how-to-us....
o previous responses to similar requests on the FYI website here:
[2]https://fyi.org.nz/body/vuw.
As the University has limited resources to respond to OIA requests, we
kindly encourage you to use the available pathways to access this
information in the first instance. These channels often provide tailored
advice and relevant details faster and more efficiently. This approach
also helps reduce the impact on the University’s ability to carry out its
other operations.
Accordingly, we are grateful again if you could please consider
withdrawing your OIA requests of 13 January 2026 and instead consider the
above alternative methods to access the information you have requested.
Please do let us know how you would like to proceed by:
o confirming withdrawal of your OIA requests, instead contacting your
Course Coordinator or Lecturer directly and reviewing information
already publicly available; or
o confirming you wish to proceed with your OIA requests as they stand.
Thank you again for your time and consideration. If you have any questions
or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
