Salaries of AUSA Staff and Student Executives
Craccum Magazine made this Official Information request to University of Auckland
The request was refused by University of Auckland.
From: Craccum Magazine
Dear University of Auckland,
Under the Official Information Act, we request a breakdown of annual salaries (including bonuses and other payments) made to AUSA employees and student Executive roles from 2015 to 2025 (inclusive).
Please provide a separate breakdown by job title and role. Where roles have been disestablished or renamed, we ask that you include data for the relevant time periods in which they were active between 2015 and 2025.
Given that AUSA is primarily funded through compulsory student services fees (CSSF), we believe there is significant public interest in understanding how these funds have been allocated over time.
Yours faithfully,
Craccum Magazine

Dear requester,
I refer to your request of 15 October 2025. The University’s response
follows.
“We request a breakdown of annual salaries (including bonuses and other
payments) made to AUSA employees and student Executive roles from 2015 to
2025 (inclusive).”
AUSA is an independent entity and employs its own staff. The University
does not hold the information requested, and we do not believe that this
information is held by, or connected more closely with the functions of,
another entity subject to the OIA. Your request is refused under section
18(g) of the OIA. You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman
if you are dissatisfied with the University’s response.
Yours sincerely,
Landon Watt
