Information about LSPs and participating agencies’ obligations under the LAS programme

A M Smith made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for A M Smith to read recent responses and update the status.

From: A M Smith

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

I would like all current, standing information about LSPs and participating agencies’ obligations under the LAS programme, as set out under the Lead Agency Agreements and Participating Agency Agreements.

I have read what has been specified in the opt-in policy, but would like to know what the contractual obligations are, particularly in terms of the use of qualified interpreters, interpreters' working conditions and interpreters' rates (both for face to face and for video and telephone interpreting).

Thank you very much!

Yours faithfully,

A M Smith

Tçnâ koe A M Smith,

Thank you for your email of 28 November 2024 to the Ministry of Business,
Innovation and Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:

I would like all current, standing information about LSPs and
participating agencies’ obligations under the LAS programme, as set out
under the Lead Agency Agreements and Participating Agency Agreements.

I have read what has been specified in the opt-in policy, but would like
to know what the contractual obligations are, particularly in terms of the
use of qualified interpreters, interpreters' working conditions and
interpreters' rates (both for face to face and for video and telephone
interpreting).

The lead agency agreements and participating agency agreements for face to
face and telephone/video interpreting services are broad documents and
contain many contractual terms and conditions that are largely
administrative in nature.

In order to efficiently manage the processing of your request, we are
writing to seek clarification as to whether your request could be refined
to specific obligations for LSPs and participating agencies, noting you
have already specified the areas below:

o Contractual obligations related to the use of qualified interpreters;
and
o contractual obligations related to interpreters’ working conditions;
and
o contractual obligations related to interpreters’ remuneration.

Please let us know by 13 December 2024 if you would like to refine your
request.

Ngâ Mihi,

Emma
