Ministry of Transport
Kia ora Andy,
I am seeking to clarify or refine the following request you made on 24
September 2024:
“Could you please provide any information regarding the pre election
promise made by the National Party here?
[1]https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlo...
I would like to see any information provided to or requested by the
Minister of Transport on this issue and evidence of any work requested
relating to this matter.”
I note that you previously made a request to the Minister of Transport on
23 July 2024 that was refined to:
“All policy advice you received from the Ministry of Transport and related
correspondence between you and the Ministry of Transport since October
2023 regarding the government’s commitment to public EV charging.”
I note that the documents in scope of your 23 July 2024 request are likely
to receive the same treatment under the Act at this time. Therefore, I
would suggest refining, “I would like to see any information provided to
or requested by the Minister of Transport on this issue,” to:
“All Ministry of Transport policy advice provided to or requested by the
Minister of Transport since 23 July 2024 relating to the Government’s
commitment to 10,000 public EV charge points by 2030.”
On the final part of your request seeking, “evidence of any work requested
relating to this matter,” could you please clarify what (if anything) you
are seeking beyond policy advice provided to or requested by the Minister?
Note – If you are seeking all evidence of work by the Ministry of
Transport relating to the target of 10,000 public EV charge points by
2030, a very large number of documents are likely to fall in scope
(including internal emails, meeting notes etc). As such, we may have to
consider declining that part of your request on the grounds that the
information cannot be made available without substantial collation
(Section 18(f) of the Official Information Act).
Please note, any clarification or amendment of a request is considered to
be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory
timeframe for response—see section 15(1AA) of the Official Information
Act.
Ngâ mihi,
Emma Wardle ([2]she/her)
