Thank you for your request to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities dated 24
March 2023 requesting the following under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act):

 

May I kindly request the org chart with name and position of your
kiwibuild unit. I am happy for you to not disclose the name of individual,
if the person is not in the public facing position. I understand many
kiwibuild team are public facing.

 

As there is no longer a standalone KiwiBuild unit, could you please
provide further detail around the information you are requesting?

 

KiwiBuild is now a programme with its operation spread between Kāinga Ora
and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

 

Kāinga Ora manages:

·         the underwrite part of the KiwiBuild programme and any KiwiBuild
homes developed in Kāinga Ora developments,

·         the buyer aspect for all KiwiBuild homes (assisting developers
to market the homes, assessing and confirming buyer eligibility etc) and
also manage the requirements of the Deed of Covenant

 

Within Kāinga Ora, the operation of the underwrite programme falls under
the Commercial Group in Kāinga Ora through the Commercial Products team,
which is supported by Kāinga Ora staff in its Home Ownership, Legal, and
Marketing teams.

 

HUD manages:

·         the delivery of KiwiBuild homes in the Land for Housing
programme.

 

For your information, I have located a response to a request under the Act
dated 9 August 2022 providing an organisation chart of the staff in Kāinga
Ora as at 19 July 2022.

 

Although there have been some changes since July 2022, it may help answer
your request.

“May I kindly request an updated org chart of the staff-in Kāinga Ora.
Please supply the name of each position holder, if they are public facing
staff member. I am happy for you to not provide the staff name if they are
back office or none public facing staff member. For example, I aware some
staff are dealing with developer or buyer directly in assisting their kiwi
build related projects. ”

Unfortunately it is taking longer than expected and as a result, I am
sending this email to advise you that I am extending the timeframe for
providing you with information for your request, originally due by 26
April 2023, by 10 working days under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act due to,
‘consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a
proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.’

 

You can now expect to be notified of the decision on this request by 10
May 2023 at the latest. However, Kāinga Ora will endeavour to provide you
with a response before then.
