Fines for expired vehicle registrations

Guy made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport

The request was partially successful.

From: Guy

Dear Auckland Transport,

In December I received a letter from NZTA to say I needed to renew my vehicle registration.

Unfortunately the letter arrived well after the registration had expired and so you gave me a ticket - thank you.

I am interested in understanding how many people were affected by this issue (which I am aware is not your issue).

Can you please provide the following:

* For the past 5 years the number of tickets issued for expired (or not displayed) registrations by month

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Guy
