How many registration failures for AT online membership?

Dear Auckland Transport,

I have attempted on three different occasions to register my card online. Each was unsuccessful. Friends have also tried to register online, also without success.

When I rang to inquire what the problem was, a helpful phone operator offered to register my card then and there - great service.

My questions are:

Are Auckland Transport monitoring the website for failed registrations?

1. If not, why not?
2. If so, how many failed registrations have there been?
3. Who is responsible for handling the online registration elements on the AT website?
4. What are the costs associated with online registration - is it a private contract or inhouse project, or a bit of both?

information in relation to failed MyAT registrations.

 

Whilst your request is being processed under the Act, please clarify if
the issue is with registering/creating the MyAT account itself or actually
registering the card to an existing MyAT account.

 

You will receive a response within 20 working days after the receipt of
your request by Auckland Transport, as required by the Act. The expected
due date for a response is 27 February 2017.  Please note this is the
maximum response time and we will endeavour to respond to you sooner.

Hi Jason,

I encourage you to complaint to the Ombudsman over the withheld costs.

LGOIMA 7(2)(b)(ii) is not a conclusive withholding reason, as it is subject to a public interest test in 7(1). AT do not mention that they have weighed this against the public interest at all. I consider that the public interest in this case is high enough that we should be entitled to know the costs.

In addition, AT need to be able to be able to identify quite specifically the prejudice that could occur, why it is "likely", and also justify how such prejudice would be "unreasonable".

Although they may not disclose the above analysis publicly, they would need to provide it to an investigator from the Office of the Ombudsman.
