The Ministry is working on your OIA request regarding the Ruataniwha Water
Storage Scheme dated 19 September 2013.

 

We note that you are requesting all correspondence within the Ministry and
between the Ministry and the Minister for Primary Industries.

 

Our records indicate that there is a significant volume of internal
Ministry correspondence that would require substantial collation and
research. Given the amount of work required, the Ministry is considering
fixing a charge under section 15 of the OIA and / or extending the time
limit under section 15A. We also note that under section 18(f) your
request could be refused.

 

In order to process your request within the time limit and without charge,
could you please specify the type of the information you are seeking?

 

Would you be satisfied with all substantive documents that would include
internal memos and briefing notes between the Ministry and the Minister
for Primary Industries? It is unlikely that any substantive content would
be discovered through internal emails between officials that would not
otherwise be covered in those memos and briefing notes.
