Amalgamation Proposals
Pursuant to section 17 of the Act, we advise that your request for
information has been refused on the grounds that there are no amalgamate
proposals with neighbouring Councils. Documents do not exist.
However, please note that Hutt City Council is conducting a survey through
the Hutt News on regional options in conjunction with the survey conducted
by Wellington City Council. Wellington City Council’s survey can be found
here [1]www.wellington.govt.nz/reform.

information in the circumstances of this particular case and that this
withholding of information requested is not outweighed by other
considerations which render it desirable, in the public interest, to make
that information available.
Pursuant to section 18 of the Act we confirm that you have the right to
make a written complaint to the Ombudsman in accordance with section 27(3)
of the Act if you are not satisfied with our response regarding
