Followup to the Sound Archive Digitisation Project

K.I. Davis made this Official Information request to Ministry for Culture and Heritage

The request was partially successful.

From: K.I. Davis

Dear Ministry for Culture and Heritage,

This follows on from my earlier request (https://fyi.org.nz/request/7373-1-millio...) relating to the $1 million dollar sound digitisation project undertaken by the NZ Film Archive/Nga Taonga Sound & Vision.

1. Please supply the letter from the Chief Executive of the Ministry for Culture and Heritage Lewis Holden to the Chair of the New Zealand Film Archive Jane Kominik, dated 22 January 2013.

2. Please supply all other official information that the Ministry holds relating to the matters detailed in that letter about the use or possible use of the digitization project funding for other purposes. This includes requests from the archive and responses from the Ministry.

3. As noted in the MoU (2012/13) between the Minister and the archive (clause 6.5). Please supply the agreed plan for the digitization project.

4. As noted in the MoU (2012/13) between the Minister and the archive in (clause 6.5). Please supply all reports supplied by the archive to the Ministry in relation to the digitization project.

5. Please supply the MoU's between the Minister and the archive for 2013/14 and 2014/15.

Yours faithfully,

K.I. Davis

Dear Ministerial and OIA Enquiries,

Thank you for suppling the MoU. However you still have not responded to two of my points in the OIA request. By "respond" I mean you could either refuse the request (if for example you don't have the information) or provide the information to me. Ignoring parts of the OIA request are not helpful.

The two points that you haven't yet responded to are:

2. Please supply all other official information that the Ministry holds relating to the matters detailed in that letter [from the Chief Executive of the Ministry for Culture and Heritage Lewis Holden to the Chair of the New Zealand Film Archive Jane Kominik, dated 22 January 2013] about the use or possible use of the digitization project funding for other purposes. This includes requests from the archive and responses from the Ministry.

4. As noted in the MoU (2012/13) between the Minister and the archive in (clause 6.5). Please supply all reports supplied by the archive to the Ministry in relation to the digitization project.

Could you please respond to these two points. Alternatively I can submit them as additional OIA requests.

Yours sincerely,

K.I. Davis

MCH got in touch to say they haven't been receiving requests. I found in our mail logs that there was a period where FYI email to MCH was being bounced by their server. (Unfortunately this doesn't appear here on the website.)

The follow-up immediately above was one that bounced. I've not re-sent it as I see you sent a new request referencing the unanswered questions and re-sending this one may cause confusion. If you would rather it be re-sent, please change the request status to mark it as requiring admin attention.

Thanks Oliver for the update. Agreed, as I've already submitted another OIA regarding the questions not answered best to not resubmit this one. Thanks for looking into it.
