Hello Mr Kelly, thank you for your information request.

I wish to take the opportunity to clarify a few points in relation to how
Police would prefer to receive requests for information. Police ask
requesters to provide their name, date of birth, address &/or
email with two forms of identification.  Under the Privacy Act Police are
required to take reasonable steps to satisfy itself of the identity of a
requester before releasing any personal information.

It would assist Police to process your request and satisfy our
requirements as to identification of a requester if you could provide
 these details with your request.

It would also greatly assist Police to process your request if you could
provide some information or context for the request as when the request
relates to information about people other than yourself, Police are
required to consider the privacy interests of the other parties.
Kind regards
Deb Collins

    Dear New Zealand Police,
Thank you for replying to my request. It is a shame all Lukes email correspondence was delted following the inquest hearing and the recent Police email upgrade. I hope he hasnt lost any other valuable information and am surprised he cant get one of your tech people to retrive stuff. May be you should sugest this to him as the technical people I have spoken with say this should be quite easy to do.
Yours faithfully,
Paul Kelly
