From: Malcolm Lock

Dear New Zealand Police,

Hi Deb,

I'm going to send this back as not answered. and request that it be answered correctly.

Can you please read and fully understand the question, which is...
Was an inventory of items seized for the ten firearms issued in
accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012?

Please note the section stating, in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012

Your answer just states that an inventory was completed, not whether it was in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 or not.

I would have thought legal services would have at least looked up the act and found out what are the requirements of section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 and then studied the case file to make a determination as to whether the seized firearms were done in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 or not.

Can you please discuss this with legal services and confirm or deny if in fact the inventory of items seized for the ten firearms was issued in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012

Yours faithfully,

Malcolm Lock

In regards to what email address this OIA request was sent to, it would have been the email address that the NZ police supplied to the FYI website for OIA's to be sent to.
