District Licensing Committees- V2
john luke made this Official Information request to Auckland Council
The request was successful.
From: john luke
Dear Auckland Council,
I noted from your previous response back in 2023
"Do DLC chairs and members get paid? Yes, the remuneration rate is set by the Minister of Justice and is currently $78 an hour for a chair and $51 an hour for members. DLC invoices are subject to withholding tax. ”
Could you please confirm whether the pay rate is still correct? Also, could you provide the annual payment amounts received by each DLC member from the last term? I understand there are privacy considerations, so I’m happy for the information to be listed anonymously—for example, “DLC member 1 received X amount,”, “DLC member 2 received X amount,” “DLC chair received X amount,” etc. Further what about GST implication? Can you please let me know if there is any DLC member/chair provide the invoice with GST? If so, how many.
"Applications for the DLC roles are being submitted through council’s recruitment page and therefore, refers to successful candidates as being employees. To clarify, DLC chairs and members will be contractors to council, not employees. "
Could you please provide the contractor agreement that DLC members and the chair are required to sign? Also, could you clarify whether they will be issued with any items such as an ID card, council email address, laptop, mobile phone, or similar? Please also advise what other provisions or resources are included as part of this contract.
Yours faithfully,
john luke
