Information on Investigation Policies Regarding Elected Members
john luke made this Official Information request to Auckland Council
The request was successful.
From: john luke
Dear Auckland Council,
I am writing to request information regarding your policies and procedures for investigating matters related to elected members. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the following:
What is your standard operating procedure when an elected member is found to have made false claims, particularly if those claims may have influenced their election?
Do you accept and act on public complaints concerning the behavior or conduct of elected members? If so, how and what is your policy and procedure.
What is your formal complaint process for addressing concerns related to elected officials? Can I make a compliant using OIA process, if so, I would like to make one with regards to Fale Andrew Lesā.
Additionally, I would appreciate clarification on how your organization responds when external investigations, such as media reports, raise serious concerns. For example, I assume you are aware of the recent Stuff investigation into Fale Andrew Lesā, which revealed misleading information. In such instances, does your organization initiate an internal investigation based on media reports? If so, may I request to also understand your internal investigation process and procedure as well.
Yours faithfully,
john luke
