Kia ora Faye,
Thanks for the offer. I’ll decline a video call at this stage.
Given the scope is already outlined in my request, I’d appreciate a written response from Parks & Community Facilities setting out your assessment, any information gaps, and next steps.
Could you please confirm an expected timeframe for a written response?
If there are standard templates or forms you’d like me to complete, feel free to send those through.
See below altered response to narrow it down , I am sorry if it is broad, however this data will guide the report my client has hired me to write on the non consistent processes with specialist tender awards

From: Official Information
Auckland Council
Kia ora ScootaBrad,
Thank you for your email. After careful review, it appears that the
revised request is still too broad for us to process and might result in a
refusal under section 17(f) of the Local Government Official Information
and Meetings Act 1987, as the information requested would require
substantial collation or research.
We have identified approximately 50 projects involving skate or wheeled
play-related work. The Parks and Community Facilities department can
provide information on sports renewal, refurbishment, or upgrade projects
from 2021, which would include details such as:
- Project name and location (park/reserve + suburb)
- Start and completion dates
- Total cost (broken down by design, build, contingency, professional
services if available)
- Funding source (renewals budget, LDI capex)
- Who the Project Manager was
However, certain information is not recorded in Sentient, the software we
use for tracking project financial information. This would necessitate
each individual Project Manager of the projects within scope to research
and provide details like:
- Type of work (e.g., resurfacing, equipment replacement, concrete
re-pour, extension, lighting, etc.)
- Number of defects, warranty claims, or resurfacing due to poor quality
Additionally, our PCF Senior Community Engagement Advisor would need to
research and provide records of any community engagement or consultation
(e.g., “Have Your Say” pages, concept plans). Also, Procurement would need
to research and provide:
- The procurement pathway used for each project (open tender, panel,
direct award/waiver, design–build, etc.)
- Evaluation criteria or weighting (if available) that guided contractor
selection
- If a project was not competitively tendered, the procurement waiver or
decision memo
- Contractors used (including specialist skatepark builders if any)
Before we consider refusal or apply a charge, we would like to offer you
the opportunity to refine your request. Refinement could include options
such as a narrower timeframe, information on projects for a specific local
board, or the removal of certain questions, focusing only on specific
aspects like Procurement or Community Engagement. Is there any particular
focus you have in mind?
Please let us know by 07 October whether you would like to refine your
request.
Please note that any clarification or amendment of a request is considered
to be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory
timeframe for response – see section 13(7) of the LGOIMA.

Amanda
