From: Tracy Smith
Dear Auckland University of Technology,
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I respectfully request the following information:
What formal process authorised the Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office to assume control over AUT International’s operations, management, or governance?
Please provide any documentation (e.g., role descriptions, delegation memos, organisational charts) that record this transition.
Outside the originally advertised responsibilities, what additional departments, projects, or strategic functions have been placed under the oversight of the Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office?
Please provide an updated outline of all current responsibilities.
What is the full organisational structure of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, including reporting lines and the teams, units, or departments under its management?
Has AUT conducted any assessments regarding the operational impact of the consolidation of departments under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor?
If so, please provide copies of any reports, memos, or communications that refer to organisational efficiencies, delays, or operational challenges arising from these structural changes.
Finally, has the current occupant of the role spent significant periods of time overseas (specifically in Los Angeles, USA) while in this position?
If so, was this arrangement formally approved by AUT governance structures (e.g., the Vice-Chancellor, Council, or HR)?
Please provide any policies, approvals, or governance documents that relate to offshore working arrangements for senior leadership roles.
Yours faithfully,
Tracy Smith
