Cycle Signage on Kennedy Good Bridge

David Tripp made this Official Information request to Hutt City Council

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Hutt City Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: David Tripp

Dear Hutt City Council,

Recently MOTSAM standard 'Cycles must exit' signs have appeared on the east bound lane of Kennedy-Good Bridge. These are legally enforceable directions that ban cycles from the bridge.

Under the officials information act I request the following information:

a) Which committee, or team, approved the banning of cycles on Kennedy-Good Bridge?

b) What information and analysis was considered in making this change?

c) Please provide all discussion and reports leading up to and including the sign placement.

d) Have any cyclists been prosecuted / fined for travelling on the road at Kennedy-Good Bridge since these directions have been in place.

Yours faithfully,

David Tripp
