Request for Details of Free Public Transport for Police
Adam Hart made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Adam Hart to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Adam Hart
Dear Auckland Transport,
I understand that police officers get free transport on AT busses and trains to and from work.
Is this correct?
If it is not correct, have they ever received free rides in the past?
If so, how do they prove they are police officers? By showing their police badge or do they have to be in uniform?
How many officers, on average use free public transport each week?
What is the cost in lost revenue to AT for free rides?
Are police officers using free transport expected to intervene if anything happens on the ride? And who can request assistance?
Do free rides extend to other emergency services i.e. firefighters or ambulance officers etc?
How often have police officers on free rides intervened in an incident in the last 12 months?
Yours faithfully,
Adam
