Dear Andrew,

 

I refer to your request for:

 

From the reports in the media regarding discussions for a Southern
Super-City, between the Christchurch City Council and neighbouring
districts, I am requesting the following:

a. Between Christchurch City Council executive team and elected
councillors; all material, correspondence, emails, letters, meeting notes,
presentations, for and over discussions concerning a Super-City, and

b. Between Christchurch City Council et al and neighbouring districts; all
material, correspondence, emails, letters, meeting notes, presentations,
for and over the discussions concerning the same, and

c. Any correspondence, announcement, declaration, request for involvement
and or feedback with the residents and ratepayers of Christchurch,

 

Council Response

The Council doesn’t hold anything specific to the development of a “Super
City”. However, the concept of a unitary authority was discussed in
context of the Council’s submission on the Future for Local Government
submission. We have included this information to assist.
