Jono Hayes made this Official Information request to The Network for Learning Limited

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Jono Hayes to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Jono Hayes

Dear The Network for Learning Limited,

I am writing to formally request the following information under the Official Information Act (OIA):

N4L has maintained that Schools and IT would be able to be self-managed during and after the Te Mana Tuhono project.

Section one;
1) Public information on its website(s), keynote presentations, responses to past OIA and/or in-person comments such as;

a) Read access Command Line Interface (CLI) on switches (VLAN’s, ACL’s, port configuration are done via the controller). Link: https://support.n4l.co.nz/s/school-netwo...

b) You’ll have a central point to manage switches and wireless, making it easier to view, troubleshoot, and manage. Link: https://support.n4l.co.nz/s/school-netwo...

c) Read-Write permissions for Access Points, WLANs and Switches. Link: Can supply on request for privacy reasons.

d) IT will be able to manage the network in the controller. Link: Can supply on request for privacy reasons.

e) Schools/IT should have “Role Component Permissions of Read-Write”; Managing ‘WLANs’, CLI - Switches Read-Only. Link: https://fyi.org.nz/request/23084-te-mana...

f) Schools post SA have the “The same level of access exists following Secure Access”. Link: https://fyi.org.nz/request/23084-te-mana...

2) N4L has also made public that Schools and IT don't have access to CloudPath. Link: https://support.n4l.co.nz/s/school-netwo...

Section two;
1) Is N4L aware that when Schools move through Te Mana Tuhono stages 2 and 3, all ports on switches will have mac address authentication enabled?

2) Is N4L aware there is no way for a School and/or IT to disable mac address authentication on switch ports within SmartZone?
2.1) And only N4L staff can perform such an action(s)?
Link: N4L helpdesk ref:_00D90leYP._500Mo6kGpb

3) Is N4L aware there is no way for a School and/or IT to add mac addresses to CloudPath?

4) Does N4L stand by the above comments outlined in section one?
4.1) And does N4L consider them truthful and not misleading?

In accordance with section 12 of the OIA, I want to emphasise that I am a New Zealand citizen currently residing in New Zealand.
