Dear Cody,
The data that you are after is sourced from this map
([1]https://ccc.govt.nz/transport/getting-ar...) –
Would you like the data converted into the shapefile (GIS) format?
Or did you mean something else instead?

Dear Official Information,
The page you are referring to uses data sourced from, ironically, me (and others). I am looking for an authoritative map of major cycle route paths and - if possible - any other cycle paths / ways.
Yours sincerely,
Cody C

Dear Cody,
Thank you for your email, received on 19.04.2023. You requested the
following information, under the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):
“Where can I find CCC's master GIS data of Cycle lanes and Cycle paths?
I am unable to find this on the Open Data GIS server ”.
Please find attached a response to your LGOIMA request.
Attached is a PDF file of an ESRI shapefile of the ‘Cycle Assets’ Layer,
as of today (26/4/23). This is an A0 paper size to be large enough to
capture the whole city and have some level of detail. This overview
contains only existing assets, not future routes, may not contain some
recent additions. Besides, this is the same data as the public map but
also includes cycle assets present but not currently shown on the public
map - such as short, isolated lengths at intersections where there is not
otherwise a cycle lane. Major Cycle routes are labelled ‘Primary Network’
in the strategic column.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our
decision. Complaints can be sent by email to
[1][email address].
Publication of responses to LGOIMA requests
Please note: our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Christchurch
City Council website a month after they have been responded to, with
requesters’ personal details withheld. If you have any concerns about
this, please contact the Official Information team on
[2][Christchurch City Council request email].

Dear Official Information,
Fantastic. Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for.
Am I able to please receive this same data but in the original GIS format? i.e. GeoJSON, KML or similar. A PDF is good for looking at but is not able to go back into any mapping program.
Also, is there an intent to ultimately make this layer visible on the CCC OpenData GIS site? This would save time vs requesting this manually again in future.
Yours sincerely,
Cody C

Dear Official Information,
This is not a new request and I’m disappointed that you would think so. Please let me know where in the initial request I asked for a PDF. You will see in fact I asked for GIS data.

Someone let me know that the data I requested, in the format I requested, was actually made available here - https://opendata-christchurchcity.hub.ar... - not sure why CCC didn't just provide this in the first place.
