Determination of MHWS at Onepoto in Relation to Boatshed Developments
Brian Warburton made this Official Information request to Porirua City Council
The request was partially successful.
From: Brian Warburton
Dear Porirua City Council,
The northeastern-most 'boatshed' at Onepoto has recently been the subject of substantial building development. This is of the scope that would normally require building consent. Therefore, I presume PCC (as the regulator under the Building Act) has records on its database of the building development to which I refer.
The land where this 'boatshed' is located appears to span the boundary of the Coastal Marine Area (which the RMA defines as the alignment of the MWHS).
I'm interested in any information that PCC received in the application for building consent for this 'boatshed redevelopment' that, particularly but not especially, relates to the determination/positioning/delineation of the MHWS.
I understand the determination/positioning/delineation of the MHWS has significant implications in terms of the PCC's and/or GWRC's jurisdiction under the RMA (ss.9 and 12). This being the case the information I've requested should be readily available.
Yours faithfully,
Brian Warburton
