Kia ora Brian,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you.

We have had to update the plans to remove the shared pathway component
from this first resource consent submission, as per that last project
update.

The plans have only just been received from the engineers, and we now need
to go through the review process and show the Council the final plans.

We are very close to loading them on the website once we lodge for
resource consent – so they will publicly available hopefully by the end of
the month.

Dear Moana Wyatt,

Please send me a copy of the application without delay. I'm aware that the application has been lodged with GWRC.

This information has been available for some time now but for some reason PCC wants to prevent the public having access to it. This is unacceptable. I note the PCC's webpage is out of date, again!!

I understand you have received the following information directly from the
project team. However, I also include it here.

We are really pleased to announce that on Wednesday 2 November, Council
lodged its resource consent application for the coastal resilience part
(Stage A) of this project.

The consent application and supporting information is now available on our
website at the link below. The consent application itself has 31 documents
attached ranging from the actual application forms to detailed assessment
of effects documents such as wave height modelling, a cultural impact
assessment, stormwater assessments and community engagement!

The project, which will be a fantastic asset for our community and of
enormous benefit to harbour health; has been a large undertaking. Getting
this far has taken a huge amount of effort and support. We are looking
forward to receiving a successful outcome and will keep you updated.

Dear Moana Wyatt,

Yes, I have the information now.

I note that I knew the application had been lodged with GWRC (via GWRCs weekly print out of new applications) before the project team advised interested parties via the PCC webpage. That is why I resorted to the LGOIMA.

Also, I wonder why almost two weeks expired between the application being lodged and the project webpage being updated.

Also, I wonder why you did not proactively provide me with the information considering my previous requests about this matter.

I’m keen to hear your comments.

Yours sincerely,

Brian Warburton

The staff member working on this resource consent application, and other
aspects of the project, is also responsible for updating stakeholders and
the website. There were additional IT challenges uploading the 30+
documents linked to the report so that the public could easily access
them. As you can imagine it’s been a busy time. I did not want to add to
that pressure when I knew the information would be released publicly
within a matter of days and that you would receive it then.

I have copied your comments below to the Chief Executive as requested in
your separate email.
