List of employers leasing land from the CCC

Nathaniel Herz-Edinger made this Official Information request to Christchurch City Council

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Christchurch City Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Nathaniel Herz-Edinger

Dear Christchurch City Council,

I request a list of all the employers -businesses, NGOs, etc- currently in a land/building/space lease agreement with the Christchurch City Council, including but not limited to library cafes, early childhood centres, and third sector service providers.

If any lease agreements are made in order to provide public services, I would like this information to be included as well.

Yours faithfully,

Nathaniel Herz-Edinger

Dear Nathaniel,

My apologies for the delay in our response.

Please see the following information in response to your request:

For question one, we do not collect information from our tenants about
their staffing arrangements or if they are “employers”.  We are therefore
refusing this part of your request under the following section of the
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):

* 17(e) – the information requested does not exist or cannot be found

For your second question we have assumed from the wording of your first
question (“third sector”) that the reference is to the public service.  If
this is the case then we can advise that we have the following leases to
public sector (generally) agencies:

* Lease of part Bus Interchange to ECan
* Lease of part Akaroa Information Centre to ECan
* Occupancy Agreement for part Te Hononga to Department of Prime
Minister and Cabinet

If this is not the information you were seeking please let me know and I
will go back to staff.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
[2]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

From: Nathaniel Herz-Edinger

Dear [email address],

To clarify my request: I would like a list of all of CCC's tenants. Failing that, I would like the largest practicable list of CCC tenants.

If CCC already classifies tenants according to type of business, type of lease, social purpose of lease, et cetera, I would like this information as well, in spreadsheet format.

Also, I note that more than the statutory 20 working days elapsed before this response, and I did not receive any notification of delay. I trust that in future I will receive notification of a delay, and that a proper reason will be given, as per Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 14.4.A

Yours sincerely,

Nathaniel Herz-Edinger
