Department of Internal Affairs
Dear sir or madam
I am writing this email to advise you that, in accordance with section 15A
of the Official Information Act 1982, the Department is extending the
timeframe for the response to allow the consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request.
The reason for this extension is that the records pertaining to your
request are primarily held by Archives New Zealand, a unit of the
Department. The Archives New Zealand Wellington building is currently
closed following the earthquake of Monday, 14 November. While staff are
working remotely where possible, not all records are currently accessible
and we require additional time to ensure that we meet your request.
The extension is to Monday, 19 December 2016, although we will respond to
you earlier if we are able to do so.
If you have any questions about this email, please feel free to contact me
directly or through the [1][DIA request email] email address.
As the requestor, you have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official
Information Act, to make a complaint about this extension to the
Ombudsman.
Yours sincerely
