The request was partially successful.
From: Chris Matenga
Dear Rotorua District Council,
On behalf of traditional landowners within Ngati Rangiteaorere tribal rohe I wish to know of any developments and roading that may impact their traditional relationship with the whenua and request any recent (5 years) information (reports/drafts/correspondence) you hold that may indicate plans for such development.
In particular, I wish to request any information relating to the development of the Whakapoungakau area (behind the FRI nursery opposite the kahikatea stand on Te Ngae road) and any access roading plans such as a roundabout at Brunswick Park on SH30 - is NZTA just planning a round-about at the SH30 junction or a second one also at Brunswick Park and what plans are in motion for requiring private or reserve lands in these or other access ways and developments in the area?

Matenga

Dear RDC
Thank you for your reply but as the enquiry straddles both yours and NZTA jurisdictions, would you mind confirming what information your organisation holds that is not of their jurisdiction. For example the part of the request that says "In particular, I wish to request any information relating to the development of the Whakapoungakau area (behind the FRI nursery opposite
the kahikatea stand on Te Ngae road) and any access roading plans such as".
We dont need know staff names and don't expect commercially sensitive information, but as time is of the essence, we need to know if there is to be a large development (eg housing subdivision and other infrastructure) and if so any internal report or communications that helps us get a sense of the location, size, scope and timeframes to be aware of for key phases and related resources in the environment.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Matenga

I refer to your email below which was forward to Council from NZTA Waka
Kotahi.
Council will provide a response as soon as possible regarding any
development of the Whakapoungakau area from Council’s point of view.
(Your request was transferred to NZTA Waka Kotahi purely to provide a
response for the State Highways component of the request).
