yourself and your team.
In terms of the hui, I thought the discussion went well and that we have a shared vision for the future
that supports both iwi longer-term development aspirations and also the safety outcomes the Agency
is seeking to implement at Te Ngae Junction.

In terms of the hui can you please confirm your acceptance and agreement to the following:
1. Confirm your acceptance for NZTA to design and construct a 3-leg roundabout at Te Ngae
Junction and two right-turn bays into and out of Rangiteaorere road (attached option 2 concept
design).
a. It was discussed and agreed that the project team would conduct initial investigations to
ascertain the feasibility of constructing a concrete shared user path beneath the
Waiohewa bridge.
b. It was discussed and agreed that the Te Ngae Farms access at the junction of
Rangiteaorere Road and SH30 (roundabout 2) would be followed up separately via an
exchange of letters between the NZTA and iwi when iwi have more detail and are ready
to progress (Rodney can assist here).

2. Confirm your approval for Engineers to access NKRC land to complete non-intrusive
topographical survey and site walkovers for ecological assessments (roundabout and
Waiohewa bridge underpass investigations).
3. Confirm your approval for contractor and consultant access to NKRC land for construction
purposes (roundabout and potential path construction) in the new year.
a. Subject to confirmation of construction funding and further design delays, we currently
have construction scheduled for commencement in February 2022 and concluding in
November 2022.
