Dear Ms Hopkins

Thank you for your email dated 19 March 2021 to Kâinga Ora – Homes and
Communities requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act),
the following information:

 1. Could you please inform me of any planned or future plans for
Kiwibuild homes in the Franklin Region of South Auckland?

 2. Could you also release (if they exist) any documents relating to
discussions in the past 3 years around a potential cap increase for
Auckland and the first home starter grant?

On 23 March 2021, part two of your request was transferred to Te Tûâpapa
Kura Kâinga – Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (the Ministry) for
response, as the policy settings for the First Home Grant fall within the
Ministry’s area of responsibility.

In order for the Ministry to provide a response to your request, we need
to extend the time available by five working days.  The reason for this
extension is that consultations necessary to make a decision on your
request are such that a proper response cannot be made within the original
timeframe.

If you have any further queries in relation to your request, you can
contact us at [1][email address].

You have the right to seek an investigation and review of my decision by
the Ombudsman, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant
details can be found at: [2]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.

Yours sincerely
