Hello Eamon,

Thank you for your patience with regard to this.

I have been speaking with the Council's City Safety team, and am able to
provide you with the following -

Thank you for your interest in the efficacy of actions highlighted in the
Te Aro Park [1]Assessing Harm report, in particular, on the reduction of
verbal and physical harassment, intimidation, aggression and other similar
anti-social behaviours toward other persons.

Council has continued to work with partners on the actions listed in the
report, and additional actions – aimed at improving safety and amenity in
the park and surrounding area. For a current list of actions taken, visit
our website on
[2]https://wellington.govt.nz/community-sup....
We are regularly updating this page.

As we continue to implement improvements highlighted in the report we
will need time to measure the impact of these. The evidence that we looked
at for the original report has provided a baseline, and provided some good
sources of data that are now using to monitor trends.

Towards this end, we have drafted an initial report template that at the
moment includes observed incidents by CCTV operators and WCC’s Local Host
team, including anti-social behaviour. We are intending to run  these
reports monthly, which will allow us, over time, build up a picture of
efficacy of our initiatives  as well as helping in identifying potential
areas of concern and  will enable early intervention.

This reporting/monitoring mechanism is at an early stage, and we are
planning on developing  into a more comprehensive monitoring report, with
the potential inclusion other data from our partners on other matters,
such as reported assaults.

Engagement with businesses, the Police and other partners also continues
through mechanisms such as the monthly meetings being convened by
surrounding businesses. This will give us valuable anecdotal evidence of
the efficacy of actions taken that we can look at alongside the data
contained in these monthly reports.

We hope to be able to share this information in a public forum as we begin
to build  and track changes over time

Kind regards

Chris
