Dear Mark,

Thank you for contacting the Earthquake Commission (EQC).

CLM/2011/064912 - 39 Marriotts Road, North New Brighton, Christchurch 8083

I can confirm that the claim(s) for the above address were cash settled
and were not referred to Fletcher Earthquake Recovery (EQR) for a managed
repair.

I am therefore unable to provide the EQR Scope of Works as it does not
exist.  Please note that if you require the ‘sign off’ documents, you can
obtain it from the contractor who managed the repair at the property.

I apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause.  I have however,
attached copies of the following documents:

o Statement of Claim;
o Land Scope of Works;
o Land Sketch;
o Land Legend Sheet;
o Land Damage Assessment;
o Scope of Works (uncosted).

The attached land documents helped EQC identify information that may have
been relevant to its assessment of the residential land claims. They are
not intended to form a complete technical report on land damage to your
land. The land information, including valuations, repair costs and
estimates, do not necessarily reflect the final land settlement.

EQC assessments have a very specific purpose and for this reason, are
limited in their use. The purpose of an EQC building assessment is to
record the natural disaster damage which has occurred to residential
buildings (as defined in the EQC Act
[1]http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/publi...

EQC uses this assessment to create a Scope of Works that details the
strategy for repairing the natural disaster damage (only) and the
estimated cost of that repair.

They’re not a substitute for a pre-purchase inspection, and should not be
solely relied on by home buyers when doing thorough due diligence as part
of a potential property purchase.

You can read more about getting help to assess risks in an area affected
by earthquakes, floods or other natural disasters when buying a house, on
the [2]Consumer Protection website.
