Good Afternoon Richard,

We are unable to provide you with the information you asked for.

On 6/02/2020 you asked for CCTV footage for Crown Hill / Bottom Of The
Hill / Coming Into Milford on 6 February 2020 at about 0715. I am sorry to
hear of the incident you were involved with.

Unfortunately, we do not have any footage in relation to your request
because the camera at that location:  Shakespeare Rd / Kitchener Rd was
facing the opposite direction and did not capture the incident. Your
request is therefore refused under section 17(e) of the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA), as the footage does
not exist.

We understand that this isn’t the outcome you hoped for.

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review how we’ve responded to
your official information request. You can contact the Ombudsman at
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Kind regards,

Good Morning Richard,

Thanks for your follow up email.

When a request is made for CCTV footage we firstly find out if there is a
camera in the vicinity. The time frame, location and date are used to look
for an incident. If the incident is captured the footage is saved.

Due to privacy reasons we are unable to release any footage to individuals
as this may breach the privacy of other people in the footage. If
something was captured we let the customer know and advise them to contact
the NZ Police or their Insurance provider.

I understand you wanting to view the footage but I am sorry, we are unable
to provide this to you. Your request is therefore refused under section
17(e) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
(LGOIMA), as the footage does not exist.

Kind regards,

Glen
