Dear SCION,
Under the provisions of the Official Information Act I request the following information on work undertaken by SCION at the February 2019 Tasman Fires over the period 6th -10th of Feb:
1. For each day, the predicted fire weather data that SCION input into the Prometheous fire growth simulation modelling system and the resulting output (s) from Prometheous.
2. For each of these same days, the output(s) from Prometheous when the recorded fire weather data for the day was subsequently input into Prometheous to test the model and compare “actual” with the “prediction”.
3. In the event the model was not tested as in 2. above, I request that this work be undertaken and the results released to me.

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your official information request
dated Thursday 28 November 2019 (below).
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in
any event no later than 17 January 2020, being 20 working days after the
day your request was received. As you may be aware under the Act working
days is defined to exclude the period 25 December to 15 January (in the
following year).
If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of
an extension of that timeframe.
