Minutes - Te Tauihu Councils

Alan Riley made this Official Information request to Nelson City Council

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Alan Riley to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Alan Riley

Dear Nelson City Council,

In a recent Governance and Administration Select Committee submission, the Mayor referenced "the minutes of a meeting on Monday 1st May of the three Mayors and three
Chief Executives" (in reference to the Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough Councils).

I would like to request a copy in full of these minutes.

In addition, I would like to request a copy of any meeting minutes or notes of meetings between two or more of the three Council Mayors this year (2023).

In addition, I would like to request a copy of any correspondence (email or letter) between two or more of the three Council Mayors this year (2023).

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Riley

Kia Ora Alan,

Thank you for your request for information, received at Council on 18 July
2023. The Service request number assigned to your request is 2330105.

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as reasonably
practicable and in any event no later than 15 August 2023, being 20
working days after the day your request was received.   Working days
excludes public and provincial holidays and the period between 20 December
to 10 January inclusive.  If we are unable to respond to your request by
then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.   In the case
of a request that is not made with due particularity or is very broad and
a response would require substantial collation or research, we may ask
that this be clarified or refined in terms of scope, which may affect the
statutory deadline given above.

Nelson City Council

Kia ora Alan,

I write further to your request for information dated 18 July 2023.
In relation to our response, it is necessary for us to apply an extension
of time under s.14(1)(b) of the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).  This is because consultations necessary to
make a decision on the request are such that a proper response to the
request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

Having regard for the circumstances, we consider a period of up to 15
working days from the original deadline (15 August) is reasonable.  This
means a decision on your request for information must still be made as
soon as reasonably practicable, although the new statutory deadline will
now be 5 September 2023.

You have the right to complain the Ombudsman regarding the application of
this extension.   Information about how to make a complaint is available
at [1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or Freephone 0800 802 602.

Ngā mihi,

Kate Redgrove
LGOIMA Advisor
