Please could you tell me through the LGOIMA process the following information:
Does the council have and follow any specific protocol regarding internal investigation of
a departments actions? Is there anything in the protocols that ensures that the officials carrying out the investigations are not carrying out investigations of their own department?
I ask this in order to ensure that the public, in general and ratepayers in particular, can be confident that any complaints are being investigated with fairness and transparency.

regarding internal investigation of a departments actions”.
However, the general protocol for dealing with such matter(s) in the past
has been to refer the matter(s) to external experts for investigation,
determination and recommendation(s) (if any).

Lloyd I noticed that the crimes act 105A is noted as reason for not supplying information. I cant see any reason this is applicable unless the Council consider that you will use this information for pecuniary gain.
