The Pigeon Valley Fire

Alan Thompson made this Official Information request to Fire and Emergency New Zealand

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Alan Thompson to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Alan Thompson

Dear Fire and Emergency New Zealand,

In early May I requested copies of the Incident Action Plans (IAPs) for the first ten days of the Pigeon Valley fire (Feb 2019). This request was refused as you believed that release of the plans might be prejudicial to the operational review that you were going to undertake. Whilst this was a somewhat surprising claim I accepted this refusal to release the IAPs.

The Operational Review for the Pigeon Valley fire has now complete and the report is with FENZ management prior to its release which is due Oct 2019.

Under the provisions of the official Information Act I request:

1. Copies of the Incident Action Reports for the first 10 days of the Pigeon Valley Fire as prepared by the FENZ IMT.

2. The written advice, forecasts, predictions, trigger points and other advice as given to the Tasman District Council Incident Controller with specific regard to his decision to proceed with the evacuation of the town of Wakefield (confirmed around noon on the 8th of Feb).

Yours faithfully,

Alan Thompson
