Thank you for your request for information made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (the Act), received on 12 August 2019. You requested the following information:

- Does Wellington City Council have a financial limit on the maximum expected cost of procurement (for goods, construction, software, consultancy etc.) before an open tendering process is triggered?
- If so, what is that dollar amount?
- If so, when was that dollar amount set?

Wellington City Council (the council) follows the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) rules on procurement. The maximum cost threshold before triggering an open tender is $100,000, this has been in place since 2015.

The Council is currently reviewing our current procurement policy to ensure that we align to the new Government Procurement Rules 4th Edition from 1 October 2019. More information on the Council's procurement rules please click on the below link.
