Thank you for your enquiry 21 February 2019. Your request has been
referred to Legal Services for consideration under the provisions of the
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (“the
LGOIMA”).

 

Your request and corresponding answers are as follows

 

“Council has allocated additional $180,000 of operational funding approved
through the Long Term Plan 2018 – 2018 for Animal Management as expressed
in Council Meeting “ Long Term Plan Deliberations” on 24th May 2018 and
finalised in the Council Infrastructure Meeting on 28 Nov 2018. I am
requesting the breakdown in how funds have been used to date and amounts
for the following items”

 

“1.      Money allocated and spent to date for Additional Animal
Management Officers (please include their Job title, Role and areas of
reasonability)”

 

Please find position descriptions attached. We are not obligated to
provide the spend to date on the extra positions as this would
inadvertently disclose salary details of those persons. We rely on section
7(2)(a) to withhold the information.

 

“2.      Money allocated and spent to date on fulfilling Animal Management
obligations on the current animal welfare regulations”

 

It is not quite clear what it is you are requesting. In terms of staff
time this cannot be quantified. Animal Management encompasses a great
number of responsibilities. We do not record time spent on each
responsibility or role with a job description. If it is costs/budgets in
terms of construction or other, pursuant to section 10(2) please provide
due particularity regarding what it is you are requesting.

 

“3.      Money allocated and spent to date for Impounded dogs Rehoming
Program”

 

This can be quantified in terms of the website set up for the rehoming
program and administration costs. Administration costs are approximately
$4,915 per year.  The website setup totalled $2,355.20 incl. gst.

 

“4.      Money allocated and spent to date for “Nga Kuri O Auau” (“Chip it
and Snip it“ program / Day)”

 

$36,554.84 for 2018/19.
